These Watching spaces are used and viewed by students and teachers alike. Ewan talks about how TED talks have been instrumental in amazing speakers speaking in a short time frame delivering superb speeches.
Maybe as part of your IWB area, there could be a platform for students to deliver their own 'amazing, superb' performances.
Other watching spaces could be TVs, attach your iPods to them to play movies, podcasts, video podcasts, music, audiobooks, or if you have a HDMI TV, invest in an AppleTV that will stream all of that same content to the tv.
The good old OHP (Overhead Projector) is another watching space. Have it permanently set up somewhere in your room. Students can use it for reading others published work, poetry, publishing work or use it for making shadow puppets or photo plays.
